I've gone to Orlando twice in the last year and I stopped in to the Lotus Garden for both of those trips. For my first visit, I was alone on business and for the second trip, I had my family with me. I just had to show them the great little Chinese restaurant that I found. They too were impressed. The location is pretty awesome because it's located in a shopping center that has a lot of cool little shops and dining establishments. There is also a World of Beer close. Give yourself some extra time to walk around and look at the other shops. The Lotus Garden is clean and decorated traditionally. They have many tables as the dining area is fairly big. I've only gone on week nights and both nights it was dead. I'm not sure if it gets busy on the weekends. The service is excellent. They are fast, polite, and responsive. The food is really good. Everything we ordered was delicious. You also get little strips and dipping sauce free once you order your food. It's like the Chinese version of chips and salsa. You really don't need an appetizer though since the portions are huge.My only real knock against them is the bathrooms. They need to be remodeled and kept clean. Other than that, I'm a fan.

As four stars mean "Yay! I'm a fan.", Lotus Garden deserves four stars. When in the mood for Chinese food, this is usually my go-to place. It is a very good neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I find it better than other similar restaurants in the area. The food is well done, reasonably priced and provided in large portions (for take out).Take out is the norm here as the restaurant is rarely packed, but there is a steady flow of people coming and leaving with the large brown papers bags full of General Tso's chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoon, fried rice and lo mein. All the standards are there, and in my experience, all have been good. I have seen them get the order wrong once in about 50 visits which, while annoying is probably better than average. If you do eat in, I have found the portions to be smaller. Service is usually good, and the staff is always polite. One bit of take out advice, if they tell you it will be 20 minutes, give them a few extra minutes, particularly on a Friday or Saturday. When they tend to be busy you can end up waiting at the entrance of the restaurant a while.Overall, the restaurant is exactly what it purports to be, a local Chinese restaurant. It is not overly fancy, and will not impress the uppity types who think trendy P.F. Changs type fare and ambiance are the way to go. If you crave good, traditional Chinese food, come here. Its worth it!

A small mom and pop Chinese restaurant with just okay food. It might satisfy a craving, but it won't be memorable. A better bet for lunch than dinner. Service is generally good, because the place is seldom crowded.

Lotus Garden is my standard neighborhood Chinese delivery place. It's certainly nothing spectacular, but it hits the spot when I'm in an urgent need for lo mein and sauteed string beans (delicious). The food is pretty good, although I only find part of the menu appetizing. One thing I do appreciate is the lack of excessive oil that I've found at nearby Chinese take-out competitors. Overall, Lotus Garden is consistent in quality and will accommodate substitutions/preferences. Everything is reasonably priced as well.

Came here after a cruise craving for Chinese food. We had a big party so we had a good spread of food . The dishes we had were good .The only things noted that i remember is the chicken wings are big wings that were just a tad too salty .The spicy tofu dish wasn't that spicy .The ratio from meat to veggie in a dish is off so if you like more meat then veggies then just a little FYI .But over all good and i would def come back if i ever need my Chinese food fix .

Traditional Hunan style chinese food. I'd agree with other reviews that this is, by far, the best Chinese Restaurant in the immediate area. It's a very pleasant indoor dining/lunch experience, but best known for their take-out. I'm a big fan of their wonton and egg drop soups, as well as their cashew chicken, sweet and sour pork/chicken, garlic sauce chicken and General Tso's (if you want the basics). The service is friendly and helpful. The prices are great, especially for the quality, location and amount of food you'll be getting. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good chinese restaurant in the area.

Nice quiet place to grab lunchI have eaten at the restaurant once before, but many many years ago. When I was there the first time I was with a large group and enjoyed myself tremendously. I think this experience really pulled through with the food. I recalled the food being fantastic and worth a second trip.I don't live in the Dr. Phillips area, but happened to be over in that direction one Saturday and decided to stop back in for a quick lunch. The restaurant was exactly how I remembered, but much more quite. Besides my mother and I there was only one other table being served. I ordered their Mongolian beef and it was 80/20...80% green onions ans water cress and 20% meat. Tasty however. My mother ordered a noodle dish of some sort and was not blow away by it, but still ate and enjoyed it.The service was good, and the staff was really nice. They have standard Chinese food, nothing to write home about however.I'd go back, its quick, quite and a nice place to catch up with pretty "A-OK" food.
